Located at the £21 million Base development within Manchester Science Park, The Manchester Innovation Activities Hub (MIAH) is a pioneering, state-of-the-art innovation and electrification skills training facility to power the low carbon economy. Opening in May 2024, will support Net Zero transitions in manufacturing, transport, energy and construction sectors.

MIAH exists to support the entire innovation chain from research, development and demonstration to commercialisation and deployment. We make it easier for innovative SMEs to scale, pivot and future proof their organisation through access to the latest industrial grade fabrication equipment, electrification and industrial digitisation skills training, collaborative R&D projects and access funding under one roof. At MIAH, we’ll turn your ideas into reality.

We are committed to diversifying Greater Manchester’s Innovation ecosystem through the rapid upskilling, reskilling and new skilling of local residents so they can enter, progress and sustain good jobs in GM’s net zero economy.
